Our Palace Blue Room artwork is inspired by the halls of Samode Palace and City Palace in Jaipur, the famed Pink City of Rajasthan. 

In the tiny village of Samode, is the grand 16th century sandstone structure known as Samode Palace. It was originally built as a fort but later converted by the princely ruler or “Rawal” Berisal into a palace. Three hundred years later, his descendent Rawal Sheo Singh added Durbar Hall. The extravagant hall is hand painted with frescos, and features a vibrant blue and white room, paying homage to both Mughal and Rajput design elements. 

In the heart of Jaipur lies the imposing City Palace where the Maharaja of Jaipur resides even today. On the scenic fifth floor of the seven-story Chandra Mahal on the western side of the complex, we find the “Chhavi Niwas” room. Its striking blue and white color scheme reflects the reverence for the Hindu God Krishna and the celebration of his birth, Janmashtami. This majestic room enabled the ladies of the palace to enjoy panoramic views in the hot and humid monsoon season.
